Roof X Tender Cold Weather Precautions

Water Based Products, RX 300,500,700, 800 & 983:

•  Surface and air temperatures for RX 300, 395, 500,700 & 800 must be a minimum of 50°F and rising, with a maximum relative humidity of 50%.
•  Surface and air temperatures for RX 983 Ultra Base Roof Primer must be a minimum of 55°F and rising, with a maximum relative humidity of 50%.

Solvent Based Products, RX 200,450,460,900 & 905:

•  Surface and air temperatures for RX 200, 450, 460, 900 & 905 must be a minimum of 40°F and rising, with a maximum relative humidity of 50%.

Silicone Based Products RX 985, 981 & 915:

•  Surface and air temperatures for RX 985 Silicone Coating must be a minimum of 35°F and rising, with a maximum relative humidity of 85%. Please note       Rain, Dew, Frost and Fog will result in adhesion problems and reduce performance.
•  Surface and air temperatures for RX 981 Butter Flash Silicone Patch & Sealant must be a minimum of 40°F and rising, with a maximum relative humidity       of 50%. Please note Rain, Dew, Frost and Fog will result in adhesion problems and reduce performance.
•  Surface and air temperatures for RX 915 Fluid Flashing Cement must be a minimum of 40°F and rising, with a maximum relative humidity of 50%.

DO NOT apply if heavy dew or rain is expected within 24-48 hours. Allow at least 8 hours between coats and 24-48 hours for full curing. All roof surfaces should maintain proper drainage. Please note during the winter months the sun sets much earlier every day. It is always prudent to finish all coating applications a minimum of 4 hours prior to sunset.

 

Flashing Cement, RX 100:

Please make sure to rotate your Roof Xtender RX 100 flashing cement inventory as well since the cans are labeled Summer Grade, Intermediate Grade, Winter Grade.

•  Summer Grade: 75°F & Rising
•  Intermediate Grade: 40°F to 74°F
•  Winter Grade: 39°F and Below

DO NOT allow stored product to freeze. Branches located in areas that experience freezing temperatures must store inventory in a hot room. Branches should NOT order material when there is a possibility of freezing temperatures while in transit.
