The TRI-BUILT® HT S/A TU Underlayment is a self-adhesive roof underlayment for high temperature composed of SBS modified bitumen. The surface is a non-woven polyester, while the self-adhesive underface is covered with a split-back silicone release film.
TRI-BUILT® HT S/A TU Underlayment is designed to be used as underlayment under tile roofing, metal roofing, but could also be used under asphalt shingles or other roofing material.
TRI-BUILT® HT S/A TU Underlayment allows for tile stacking up to a maximum of 10 tiles over a roof pitch up to maximum 6:12 for lugged or flat tiles without any slippage. For roof pitches in excess of these limitations, use battens to stack the tiles, or contact TRI-BUILT® Materials Group, LLC for alternate stacking methods.
Apply membrane on the roof deck, starting by the lowest point of the roof. Cut TRI-BUILT® HT S/A TU Underlayment to a suitable length for working. Remove the silicone release film and fasten the membrane at its top termination, using shingle nails. Use TRI-BUILT® ROOF X TENDER RXT 100 Caulk Sealant, TRI-BUILT® CUTTINGEDGE Choice Terpolymer or TRI-BUILT® CUTTINGEDGE Elastomeric Sealant on end laps prior to the installation of the following membrane. Overlap seams should be a minimum of 3 in (75 mm), end laps a minimum of 6 in (150 mm). Minimum application temperature: 40 °F (4 °C). Service temperature: up to 260 °F (125 °C)
Do not apply directly onto wood planks. Cover surface with plywood or OSB panels prior to the membrane application. It is not recommended to use an elastomeric bitumen membrane directly on softwood boards or on flexible polyvinl chloride. Do not apply onto shingles or other roof coverings.
